KBX Gym is all about getting you out of your comfort zone and giving you workouts that surprise and challenge you. I had gained a lot of weight and realized I needed a jump start in losing it. Walking around my neighborhood wasn't going to cut it. I started going to the boot camp classes and the weight came off quickly. You never know what the workouts will entail, so my body was getting that "muscle confusion" you always hear about. My husband started coming too, and he also lost a tremendous amount of weight. We owe you KBX!

When I started this journey just a little over 2 months ago, I was around the 195-200 lbs mark. I grew up skin and bones pretty much until I hit my twenties... And faster than I blinked, I was gaining weight and not even really knowing so. Last year I tried doing the p90x workout system but I still did not eat right 100 percent of the time so I saw no results. I had even joined L.A. Fitness to help with changing my body because p90x wasn't cutting it. Before last year even ended, I had put on even more weight because not only was I lifting weights a lot more, but i still ate fast food and all the junk you can imagine... At the end of the year, I decided that it was time to figure out why I could not get the results I so longed for. I Joined KBX again, I was a member about 4 years back for a short time and it was without a doubt the best workout I have ever been a part of!! I cannot get enough of it and love and hate it at the same time! And on top of the killer workout I get, the trainers and people who also attend are very nice polite people all trying to better their way of life. I also have figured out how to eat properly and have lost 25-30 pounds and am so pumped about how much progress I have made and cannot wait to keep it up each and every night!

Comments from our friends
I belonged to another kickboxing place and thought I was doing OK. But after being here 90 days I lost 27 more lbs.
What I like about this gym is it is a serious workout place. You come in and workout, you sweat, you laugh and no one cares how you are dressed or what you look like. It's not a meat market just a great place to get in shape and have fun.
I weighed 330 lbs when I started and I have lost over 100 lbs.
“I lost 15 lbs in just over 2 weeks”
“The gym is put together nicely. This place is huge”
“No one else has a program like you do”
"My husband had made some snide comments about my weight. Now he thinks I look great!"
“The staff is so helpful. They sat down with me and developed a personal workout routine and and healthy eating guidelines for my whole family”
“This is the greatest workout I have ever had”
“I thought my other kickboxing class was a good workout but this was awesome”
“My son had a great workout in the boxing class and didn’t even know he was exercising”
“After turning 40 my blood pressure was too high. After just a couple of weeks, it is back to normal!”
“The instructors here are the best ever”
“I love the family atmosphere”
“My child’s coordination improved as I watched”
“I thought boxing would be too rough, but it was fun and a great workout”
“I was surprised that my daughter enjoyed the boxing class so much. That’s good because I want her to be able to defend her self.”
“My kid used to get picked on in school but now everyone knows he can 'Box' so they leave him alone”
A story of transformation
Twenty years ago at the age of 26 I was working out everyday lifting weights and taking Tae Kwon Do. I loved being physically active and in shape. I thought I would stay with it forever. Then, after my daughter was born, working out was pushed aside for raising a family and working full time. Several years later I began to have problems with joint pain and swelling and no longer able to go up and down stairs without leaning my back against the wall and going up or down sideways. I couldn’t raise my right arm above shoulder height and taking a walk left me with feet and hands so swollen and in so much pain I would cry. After years of anti-inflammatory drugs to no avail I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis which can leave the patient as crippled like Rheumatoid arthritis. My Doctor put me on several medicines which put me into remission but left me physically exhausted. A new drug allowed me to walk, run, and take stairs with no pain and I decided to take advantage of the mobility.
I randomly wandered into KBX Gym with a friend about a year ago. KBX is a kickboxing and boxing gym and when I walked through he doors I felt like I had found a home. I started taking kickboxing classes and the experience I had in Tae Kwon Do helped me to feel comfortable even though I was older and more out of shape than most of the other members. The people who run the gym and the employees there helped to make me comfortable by being so kind and accepting of me. As I got into better shape, I began weight training. I worked with a trainer who encouraged and challenged me. These past 12 weeks have helped me to see that no matter what you give up in life, you can find your way back if you have enough drive and dedication. The past 12 weeks have made me a stronger, more dedicated person both inside and out. I am stronger and in better shape now than I was 20 years ago. No-one believes that I am 47 years old and honestly, I have trouble seeing myself as that age anymore. They say you are as old as you feel…I feel like my old self. My trainer and the people who I work out with are always there pushing me forward. My co-workers have watched me become a new person and have commented on the changes in me. I am so very lucky to have this opportunity and to have a second chance to find and stick with something I enjoy. I know now that for as long as my body allows it, I will continue to work out and eat in a healthy way.
I find that this isn’t about my weight, the fact that I have dropped from a size 10 to a size 2 or how I look on the outside. I am very proud of the external accomplishments, but I am prouder of the person I have become inside. I know that I have reached a point where I can do anything I put my mind to. I can be an example to my children not to give up on something you want no matter how difficult it may seem when you start. I have had people approach me in the gym and ask for advice on diet or workout routines. Who would have ever thought that I could be an inspiration to someone else from a physical standpoint? It feels good to have come this far. I hold my head up a little higher and walk a little prouder knowing I am accomplishing what I set out to do. It has been difficult at times, but is so worth the end result. I hope I can be an inspiration for anyone else who wonders if they can do it.
